[Placeholder]: a studio visit with Eliza Gregory was an exhibition comprised of my own work, proposals and experiments that demonstrate my current research, and selections of my students' work from the past two years. This show invited the audience into the research for a new large scale project. It put forward questions, readings and visual engagements with the world. My students' work demonstrated the dialogue I am engaging in with them--a series of ideas passed back and forth verbally, experientially and visually. I selected the work they made that has been the most helpful to me in moving my own ideas forward. I also showcased their work as a way to demonstrate the connections to place I have catalyzed in them--some of my own recent artwork has been to cultivate my students' engagement with their surroundings. The show took place at Axis Gallery in September 2021. Installation shots were made by photographer Muzi Li Rowe.
